I am on some major insurance plans and also see patients without insurance. Since every plan is different, I recommend that you call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to find out your benefits before making an appointment.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR INSURANCE
Some good questions to ask are: 1. What are my mental health benefits? 2. What is the coverage amount per therapy session and has this changed temporarily because of Covid-19? 3. Do I have a deductible? 4. How many therapy sessions does my plan cover? 5. Is approval required from my primary care physician? 6. Is tele-health (video chat) covered? 7. How much does my insurance reimburse for an out-of-network provider?
OUT OF NETWORK /SELF-PAY
For those of you without insurance, my self-pay fees are $180 for the initial intake assessment and $160 for every session after that. I am happy to submit out-of-network claims to most insurance companies as a courtesy, or I can supply you with all the information needed to submit the claim directly. Insurances are often required to reimburse you within 30 days after they receive the information, and often you have 1 year from the date of service to submit your claims.
